C.W. Suter Services’ employee training program, Suter University, has been officially recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor as a registered apprentice program for heating, ventilation and cooling (HVAC) occupations, the Sioux City company announced this morning.
Suter University is an accelerated skills program originally developed in 2006 for Suter’s employee development and training. The customized curriculum for the program was developed with the assistance of Western Iowa Tech Corporate College. Classes offered during this ongoing program cover a variety of topics, including computer training, OSHA safety, installation and service of equipment, layout, temperature control systems, blueprint reading, piping, duct work, electrical, first aid and CPR.
