    Hometown: 

    I grew up in Akron, Iowa.

    What’s your family like?

    My wonderful wife, Kerri, and I live in Smithland, Iowa, with our dogs, Buddy and Max, and our cat, Joey. I also have four grown children and three ADORABLE grandchildren. We’ve recently become “empty nesters” and it’s time for us to go do more fun things now.

    What do you do in your spare time?

    I enjoy gardening, bird watching, bow hunting…pretty much anything that has to do with nature and the outdoors. I also love watching old westerns.

    Do you have a personal credo? Some rule, or ideal that you try to live by? 

    Do only what you think is right and don’t ask anyone to do anything that you wouldn’t do yourself.

    Do you have a personal hero? 

    My children. They keep me grounded and make me proud for all the things that they know and do – things which I didn’t know or do when I was their age.
    …Also Barney Fife (Don Knots). He’s just so cool!

    Favorite Movie?

    Grumpy Old Men. Or Grumpier Old Men.

    Favorite Candy?

    Anything chocolate!

    Favorite Band or Musician?

    Most country musicians from the ’50s through the ’90s

    If your best friend had to describe you in 3 words, what would those 3 words be?

    Honest, serious, loving

    And how would you describe yourself in 3 words?

    🙂 Honest, serious, loving

    If you could choose to have any superpower, what would it be?

    I would be a Genie and make certain people like child abusers, killers, thieves and any other bad people in general just disappear.

    How long have you been working here?

    I’ve been with Suter for 26 years.

    Explain your role at CW Suter Services:

    I am the Service Manager. My job is to organize the service department so that it can run as smoothly as possible, handle the day to day problems and try to keep all customers and employees happy.

    Have you always been the Service Manager?

    Nope. I started as a Service Technician; I spent my first decade here doing residential and commercial service calls. Then I served as the Service Manager for three years, before going back out into the field, for another decade of service work. Then, back to my current role as Service Manager.

    What part of your job do you find most challenging?

    Keeping track of things and getting things done on time.

    What’s the most fun part of your day?

    Talking to a happy customer or joking around with my coworkers.

    Do you have a proudest moment at CW Suter Services?

    My proudest moment isn’t really one moment but rather the fact that I have been working here for as long as I have and can still make a difference once in a while.
