Explain your role at CW Suter Services:
I am a Residential Service Technician. It’s my job to diagnose and repair issues with all HVAC equipment: heat pumps, air conditioners, compressors, furnaces…any of that. I started at Suter 5 years ago, and also spent some time on the Preventative Maintenance Team. So, I’ve worked on both sides of HVAC service: Preventing problems and solving problems. I have a pretty healthy perspective on what goes into keeping each system healthy and efficient.
What would you say is the hardest part of your day?
The last 30 mins or so: making sure I’m at a good stopping point or wrapping up the job on time can be rough.
What is the most fun part of your day?
Coming in and finding out where I’m going to work each day. This job is full of new challenges and I work in a different location everyday.
What are you most proud of in your Suter career?
Once I saved a customer the cost of replacing their furnace. A different local HVAC outfit had told the customer they had a bad heat exchanger and they had to replace the furnace. Obviously, that’s an upsetting bit of news for any homeowner, and this one happened to have a neighbor who suggested they call Suter for a second opinion…so they did, and I was dispatched to take a look at their situation. Using the proper tools and equipment, I was able to diagnose the REAL issue, and determine that their furnace was in great shape. As that homeowner put it, I “saved them from being duped” by the other guy. And, yes, I have a personal set of values that include being honest, but it’s even bigger than that. Integrity is part of working at Suter – it’s part of the culture here. It’s nice to know that I work for a place that encourages us to always be honest, always put the customer first, instead of selling them things they don’t need.
