I grew up in Worthington, Minnesota.

    What’s home for you now?

Wherever my lovely wife Tanya is 🙂  – which happens to be the Sioux City community.

What do you do in your spare time?

Car Cruising, Car Shows, Hunting, Fishing, Boating, Traveling

Do you have a personal motto?

Do what is right for your country, community, family and yourself!

Do you have a personal hero?

    John F Kennedy, Jr.

    Favorite movie?

Patton. Fury. Saving Private Ryan… Pretty much any movie with Clint Eastwood in it.

    Favorite candy?

The Grapes of Wrath, by John Steinbeck

    Favorite band or musician?

    CCR, Samatha Fish

If your best friend had to describe you in 3 words, what would those 3 words be?

    Tenacious. Loyal. Driven.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

    Fair. Loyal. Stubborn.

If you could choose to have any superpower, what would it be?

    To right the world’s wrongs.

And you’re pretty active in the Sioux City community, right? Which causes do you spend your time on?

Yes, I’m very active in Sertoma Club – as past State Governor, past Club President and Board Member, and I was honored with Sertoman of the Year in 2011; I’m a present board member, and past president of, the Siouxland Engineers Club; I’m on the Sioux City Code Board; I seved as Past State President of RSES (Refrigeration Service Engineers Society); and I currently assist the Troop 208 Boy Scouts of America

Whoa. That’s quite a bit. What drives you to be a part of all of these organizations?

I initially joined the Service Clubs as a networking tool to advance my career, but once I learned the missions of these clubs I became personally committed to [their missions]. I got involved with the Code Board to assist the other board members in analyzing code issues and policy. As for BSA (Boyscouts of America), I just love this organization. My Grandson is in the same Pack (Pack 208) as my son was – he is now in the Troop 208 – so the opportunity to have a do over was something I couldn’t pass up!!

    Professional Q&A

How long have you been with CW Suter?

    30 years!

Explain your role at CW Suter Services:

I’m now the Vice President, but in my time with CW Suter, I have also worked as a Service Manager, Project Manager, Project Designer, and in Sales and Estimating

What is the hardest part of your day?

Trying to find solutions to pesky problems.

What is the most fun part of your day?

Implementing the solutions we find to those pesky problems!

What is your proudest moment with the company?

We took on a project many years ago, found out we were working for a shady entity, to me it looked like we were going to go broke over the whole deal, through perseverance, hard work, great leadership we pulled through, it made us a better, stronger company!! I’m very proud to be a part of that time in Suter history.

With 30 years under your belt, do you have any interesting customer stories for us?

Hmmm. Well, there are many, but one particular comes to mind. He’s been a long term customer, very frugal guy, took a long time to earn his trust. In the last few years anytime we meet he introduces me as his “HVAC Guy”!!! I don’t know of any better compliment than that.
