Cindy March: Fun Facts
What’s your family like?
My husband, Scott and I live in Schleswig, Iowa. We have 5 kids: Rylie, Aiden, Lily, Jack, and Emma.
What do you do in your spare time?
I’m just starting my 2nd term on the school board for the Schleswig Community. I also teach 4th grade CCD. I like Nebraska football (not so much fun this year) and scrapbooking. I have 5 kids so that’s about all I have time for!
Wow. Many people would think that’s an awful lot, in addition to parenting 5 kids! Do you have a personal mantra that helps you manage your busy life?
I don’t really have a personal mantra, not really. I try to be a good Christian and do my very best each day. Most days I’m successful, some I’m not. Hopefully at the end of the day, that’s enough!
Do you have a personal hero?
I don’t have just one. There are so many people who have had a hand in my successes. My mom for always loving me unconditionally. She never judged, was just always supportive. I’ve only had a few bosses in my career and they’ve been good ones. They’ve helped mold the type of personal I am professionally.
Sweet Home Alabama….still waiting for the sequel!
Mary Higgins Clark
Favorite Band or Musician?
I don’t have one favorite. I just love good music, in general.
Describe your dream vacation:
My family loves Disney! I would take them to all the different Disney locations around the world.
If you had to eat one meal, every day, for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Pizza and Doritos.
If you could choose to have any superpower, what would it be?
I’d be a mind reader.
You mentioned teaching 4th grade CCD and serving on the school board. It sounds like being involved with these groups is very important to you.
Absolutely. When I decided to raise my family in small town Iowa, I committed to my community. With that said, the programs in these small communities won’t survive without volunteers. I enjoy being apart of serving the community when I can.
You joined Suter very recently, right?
About a year ago, yes.
Explain your role at CW Suter Services:
I am the Chief Financial Officer. I oversee the accounting and parts departments.
What did you do before that? Where’d you go to school?
I earned my BA in Accounting and Business Management from Buena Vista University. I’ve held several position in the accounting field including a Financials Analyst, Cost Accountant, Controller and CFO.
What part of your job do you find to be the most challenging?
Time…I often wish I could waive a magic wand and turn my thoughts into finished actions!
That would be very handy. What do you absolutely LOVE about your job?
I love the challenges, and the opportunities I have for providing positive guidance to the team. I believe in the philosophy of continuous improvement. In my personal and professional life, I try to keep this at the front of my mind. It helps me see each challenge in a positive light, so that every solution our team comes up with feels like a victory. Some victories are big, some are small – all of them have a positive impact on the individuals that make up our team and on the company as a whole.
What do you like about the culture/environment at CW Suter?
I love the family atmosphere. They are also an advocate for personal development and I’ve been able to attend some conferences that have strengthened my skills.
